Prime Minister puts forward case to stay in the EU with talk at GE Aviation in Nantgarw

News | | Published: 09:00, Thursday March 3rd, 2016.

Prime Minister David Cameron has warned that a vote to leave the European Union could put 100,000 Welsh jobs at risk.

On his first visit to Wales since his protracted renegotiations were completed in Brussels, the Prime Minister gave no guarantees the UK Government could meet the gap in any shortfall of EU aid Wales receives if Britain were to leave the Union.

Mr Cameron, who visited the plant on February 26, said three million jobs in the UK, including 100,000 in Wales, were “in some way reliant on European trade”.

He said: “I don’t think we should put those at risk.

“We can make sure that we sign trade deals with other countries across the world. I think the alternatives would be worse.”

Speaking at GE Aviation in Nantgarw, Mr Cameron described June’s referendum on whether Britain should remain in the EU as “much bigger” than the upcoming Assembly elections in Wales.

He said: “Why I’m so keen to get around the country now and talk about this referendum is that, to be frank, this is bigger than local elections, Assembly elections, Scottish Parliamentary elections – it’s bigger than a British General Election.

“This is about the country we’re going to have for the next 20 or 30 years, our place in the world, our relationships with our European neighbours and partners, how we trade and work with Europe.

“It’s a massive decision, so I don’t want to waste any time getting round and talking about these vital issues.”

I will still be voting to leave the antidemocratic European Union.

Safer. Stronger. Wealthier. Healthier – Brexit has its benefits.

So will I, to imagine that Britain will suffer a decline in trade with the rest of Europe just beacuse we leave is naive. EU countries depend more on selling to us than we depend on selling to them and Europe as a proportion of our exports is a declining market.

If politicians in the EU want to ‘punish’ Britain for leaving by restricting trade they will soon be forced to reconsider by their own businesses and workforce. Unfortunately we are going to see a lot of these scare stories from the stay in camp and very few positive reasons for being in the antidemocratic EU. In truth the only people that will lose their jobs are the MEPs.

I do not know which way to vote, immigration is a problem, surely the UK is full up and can’t take anymore, we have too many wasters, crooks and feckless of our own without welcoming more from other EU countries – but then am I simply ignorant and don’t know the facts. Cracks do seem to be appearing across Europe, maybe if the UK were to leave the EU it would signal the end of it, is it just an expensive organisation that we no longer need to be a part of, are we better in or out, I have no idea.

THat is the best part, without Britain in the EU the German people would soon grow tired of propping up this corrupt organisation on their own, which would sound the death knell of this terrible project. This would be great news for, among others, the people of Greece who have been treated very badly by the EU.

I am looking forward to a future of independent nations that are friendly toward each other and trade without constant directives from unelected EU commissioners who are working to an agenda of their own.

Cameron also said that the `British Motor Car industry` would collapse if we left the EU.

Bayerische Motoren Werke BMW owned by the Germans, so imports to build varient cars would be uneffected, they want to sell thier manufactured parts to us, and they want to export the resultant cars throughout the world using the UK as the launching pad to do so. I predict there would be an increase in trade between an OUT UK and most Countries of the remaining EU. as well as the rest of the world.

Rolls Royce Cars, and Land Rover owned by an Indian Company, so, I presume they would continue to trade cars manufactured in Britian with all countries of the UE and the rest of the world after Britains exit from the EU. or will RUSSIA THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES INDIA AMERICA, SOUTH AMERICA ETC ETC ETC stop buying the best cars in the world, MANUFACTURED IN AN OUT OF EU BRITAIN?

The case for staying in a failed, meddling and politically `dangerous` EU is falling apart by the day, and the debate has`nt realy started serious;y yet.

If we vote out it will have a domino effect and we will have been the first to fall and the first to get up whilst our European “partners ” will still be spread eagle on the track. We’ve already saved the Europeans from the Teutonic trouble makers twice and it looks like we’ll have to do it again.
If we vote in, then we will never have the whip hand (too much?) again.
