Appeals for information about New Tredegar fires

Gwent Police are appealing for information after responding to two reports of fires in the New Tredegar area.

Investigations are under way as to establish the cause of a fire at a property in New Tredegar on the morning of Thursday March 3.

Aberbargoed and Rhymney crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service responded to an emergency call at 12.45am at a flat on George Street, Phillipstown. No one was inside the property.

Anyone with any information can call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number 7 03/03/16.

An Aberbargoed crew also attended to a fire at a garage on Jones Street, Phillipstown at around 2pm on Sunday March 6.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service say the garage and an outbuilding were destroyed in the fire, which they believe was started deliberately. No one was injured.

Anyone with information relating to the Jones Street fire can call 101 quoting log 243 06/03/16.
