Warning to Pontllanfraith residents after thieves target area

Gwent Police are warning residents to keep a closer eye on their property and report any suspicious activity after a spike in reported incidents throughout the Pontllanfraith area overnight between March 30 and 31.

A house was broken into on Elim Way, Pontllanfraith, where money and car keys were stolen while a property on Llanarth Road had jewellery and money stolen.

There were also two attempted breaks on Elim Way and one attempted break on Woodbine Road, Blackwood.

Blackwood Inspector, Jason White says: “We are currently investigating each reported crime and asking residents to secure their property.

“Extra patrols have now been put in place by uniformed and plain clothed officers.

“I also want remind people not to leave valuable items on view or in reach of open windows.

“Please report any suspicious activity immediately by calling Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
