A community charity appeal has sold almost 400 calendars, organisers have said.

Sales of the Llanbradach calendar have reached as far afield as America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and have raised money for the village’s Christmas lights, after council funding was cut last year.

A cheque for £520 was presented to the Chair of the Llanbradach and Pwllypant Community Council, Cllr Ann Reed, by Cllr Colin Mann and Andrew King, who organised the production and distribution of the calendar.

Donations from the calendar’s profits have also been made to Velindre Cancer Hospital, Ebenezer Chapel and the Llanbradach Christmas lights fund.

Cllr Colin Mann said: “Andrew and I would like to thank everyone who bought calendars and those who made them available. In particular thanks to all the shopkeepers who stocked and sold the calendars and made a huge contribution to the success of the project.”

Well done guys, this is part of Llanbradach`s future history.

I remember this type of calendar being produced in the past by Plaid Cymru..

Next Llanbradach rural market will be Saturday 14th May 10am – 3pm at the community centre, food and craft from local producers and maybe they could sell some calendars if there’s any left – sorry a shameless plug but Llanbradach market needs to be supported to become a regular event.
