Dog rescued from gate in Wattsville

News | | Published: 15:00, Thursday April 14th, 2016.

Firefighters were called out to rescue a Jack Russell that tried to squeeze through a metal gate.

The terrier had tried unsuccessfully to get through the gate on Duffryn Terrace, Wattsville at 5.30pm on Tuesday April 12.

A Risca fire crew attended the scene, and used hydraulic spreaders to bend the metal bars apart and free the dog.

A spokeswoman for the South Wales Fire and Rescue service said the dog was fine.
