A sparkling event held at the New Cottage Dance Centre in Ystrad Mynach has raised an impressive £9,000.
Strictly Top Dancer 2016 saw eight staff members from local companies paired with seasoned dancers and pitted against one another in the name of charity.
The amateurs were paired up with their partners in September last year, and were given the challenge of learning three dances for the competition, held on the weekend of April 9 and 10.
This year saw the event run for the third consecutive year, with all proceeds going to The Breast Centre in Llandough, a charity which helps patients through holistic therapy and fitness studios.
Money was raised by the participants through sponsorship, donations, raffles and ticket sales, with the event attracting nearly 400 people across the weekend.
Garbed in outfits from the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, Lulu White and Loyd Griffiths, representing Jeff White Motors, won the Saturday evening show, with their paso doble and showdance, while on the Sunday, Jonathan Smith and Zoe Jones, representing Bounce Media, and Ollie Page and Sam Howells, representing Page Promotions, tied the top spot.
The annual event is organised by the founder of Caerphilly business Wize Virtual Admin, Mandy Weston, who said: “The most amazing thing for me is that people, companies, and the professionals give up six months of their time to learn to dance and then put on this great weekend performance all for nothing.”
