RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information to try and find the owners of several horses found on Gelligaer Common.

On Tuesday, April 26, RSPCA Cymru along with charity Redwings and Caerphilly County Borough Council removed seven horses and a foal from the common.

The horses were in such a poor condition that their owners, if found, could be subject to potential animal welfare offences.

RSPCA inspector Christine McNeil said: “We are appealing for information to try and track down who these horses belong too.

“Anyone with information can contact the RSPCA Inspectorate Appeal Line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.”

At this time the horses are in a place of safety and are receiving treatment. The animal charity has said the welfare of the horses is of paramount importance.
