The store directors have confirmed that the opticians will move to a new 3,900 sq ft unit at 59 to 61 Cardiff Road, which was previously occupied by Shoe Zone.

The old Specsavers store, at 25 Cardiff Road, closed on May 7 and the new expanded store is set to open on Friday, May 13. Specsavers will continue to provide optical and audiology services seven days a week from the larger premises.

Geraint Jones, store director of Specsavers in Caerphilly, said: “We have had a very successful 21 years at 25 Cardiff Road, but in order to meet the growing demand for our services we need a bigger unit so that we can provide the best service possible for our customers.

“The store will have seven testing rooms, a dedicated audiology room and offer a range of 1,350 frames. It’s a very exciting time as we gear up to relocate and we look forward to welcoming our customers to the new store this May.”
