The Inner Wheel Club of Machen recently held a “Teddy Bears’ Picnic” in aid of charity Parkinson’s UK.

More than 100 teddies were knitted, stuffed and sewed together by the Inner Wheel ladies.

At the picnic, held at Basil and Rusty’s ice cream parlour in Machen, the teddies were proudly on display and home-made cakes were sold to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

The teddies have been donated to the international charity School in a Bag, which provides essential schooling equipment, such as stationery, to impoverished children across the globe, and will go in the bags alongside the essentials.

For more information about the club’s activities, contact club secretary Catrin Rowlands, on 07976803053.
