Deadline reminder for EU referendum postal vote

News | | Published: 13:00, Monday June 6th, 2016.

Residents are being reminded that anybody who is registered to vote, is able to use a postal vote in the upcoming European Union Referendum.

On June 23, the UK will decide whether to leave or remain in the EU.

Those who are unable to vote in person on the day can apply to vote by post or ask someone to cast their vote for them.

The service is free and available to registered voters.

The deadline to request a postal vote is 5pm on June 8 and a proxy vote is 5pm on June 15.

Residents who were registered to vote in the 2016 Welsh Assembly elections, and still live at the same address are registered to vote.

However if someone has moved, or previously was not on the electoral register, they can register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote before the deadline of June 7.

For more information call Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Electoral Services on 01443 864 204 or visit www.caerphilly.gov.uk.

Register to vote in the referendum? or register to run in the Big Cheese Race? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. What a conundrum One, or the other, or both? I`ll have to seek some advice.

Will people of Caerphilly be sensible enough to vote to leave the EU?

According to the leader of the remain side, Sir Stuart Rose, leaving the EU will INCREASE wages.
