The Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough, Cllr Dianne Price, managed to raise around £4,200 at the launch of her charity appeal for Velindre Cancer Care.

The launch event was held at Caerphilly County Borough Council’s headquarters on Wednesday, June 29.

The Mayor’s chosen charity for 2016/17 is Velindre. Cllr Price said “I would like to say thank you to everyone who attended and supported my charity launch, the amount raised is incredible for such a worthy cause and will make a huge difference to the charity and the work they do.

“There will be a number of fundraising activities and events taking place throughout the year.”

Last year’s Mayor, Cllr Leon Gardiner, raised £17,819 during his appeal for T? Hafan and Macmillan Cancer Support.
