Gwent Police has imposed a 48 hour dispersal order in Penyrheol over the coming weekend, following recent reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Starting at 5pm today, Friday July 15, and lasting 48 hours, the dispersal order covers Heol Aneurin, Pen Y Groes, Heol Graig Wen, Glan Ffrwd and Heol Fawr and Heol YGogledd.

Officers will be patrolling the area, and have the authority to direct anyone behaving anti-socially away from the area.

If anyone returns to the area after being moved on, they face being arrested.

Local Inspector Andy O’Keefe said: “This dispersal order has been put in place following reports of anti-social behaviour in these areas where the actions of a small minority are causing alarm and distress to local residents. Officers will be on regular patrol in the areas affected to enforce the dispersal order and to prevent incidents of anti-social behaviour.”

Residents can report any anti-social activity to 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
