More needs to be done to inform businesses about the risks of cyber attacks – that was the message from Caerphilly-based Excellence IT at a recent event aimed at educating businesses on protecting their company from cyber criminals.
Held at Tredomen Park and hosted by Excellence IT, in partnership with Dell Security, the event offered local business leaders and decision-makers the opportunity to gain advice on implementing certain measures to decrease the company’s vulnerability to cyber-attacks.
Speaking at the event, Excellence IT Director Andrew Beer said: “Cyber-attacks are a prime threat to businesses in 2016, thanks to the persistence of cyber criminals. These threats are continually evolving and protecting your business can be a complicated endeavour, especially with cyber-attacks on the up.”
He continued: “We hope this event can shed some light on the risks to businesses and will prompt key decision-makers to act quickly in order to safeguard their business.”
A range of topics was discussed, such as how to promote cyber-awareness in the workplace; the importance of training around the issue; and reporting cyber-crime cases.
The event was supported by Caerphilly Business Forum.
