Islwyn MP Chris Evans has said action is needed to improve accommodation provided to families of Armed Forces personnel after a damning report by the Public Accounts Committee exposed significant failures.
The report concluded that the Ministry of Defence and contractor CarillionAmey were “badly letting down service families” by providing them with poor accommodation and often leaving them without basic requirements.
Mr Evans said: “I was shocked to hear that basic maintenance of accommodation lived in by armed forces families is very often unsatisfactory leading to poor quality living space without basic requirements.”
He added: “We owe it to our brilliant Armed Forces personnel and their families who have had to put up with their failure for far too long.”
