RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information to try and track down the owner of a Bengal cat found in Nelson.
The charity was called on Tuesday, August 2 following concerns for the health of the cat, which was found in the Ashgrove Terrace area of Nelson.
RSPCA inspector Sophie Daniels said: “He is a four-year-old neutered cat who has been found in the Nelson area.
“He’s been taken to RSPCA Merthyr Tydfil clinic for a health check and apart from some diarrhoea he is doing well.
“He is microchipped and we have spoken to the person whose number is registered to the chip, and they said the cat named, Jake, was rehomed nearly three years ago to someone in the Treharris and Merthyr area.
“However, they did say that they were aware that within a few days of rehoming him, he escaped and despite searching he was never found.
“This cat has been well looked after, so we think he must have an owner and someone is probably out there looking for him, so we are appealing for information to try and track down his owner.”
Anyone with information about the cat’s owner can contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
