Caerphilly students celebrate A Level results

News | | Published: 13:19, Thursday August 18th, 2016.

Students across Caerphilly county borough are celebrating their A Level achievements today, Thursday August 18.

The overall provisional pass rate for students in Caerphilly county borough schools for WJEC A Levels was 97% (A*-E), consistent with the provisional result from 2015. The provisional result for WJEC A Level grades A*-A was 16.6%, an increase of over 1% compared to the provisional result from 2015, and 69.8% of grades were at C or above, again seeing a slight increase compared to the provisional result from 2015.

Cllr Derek Havard, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning is keen to recognise the achievements of the students and their teachers.

He said, “These results have been achieved as a result of much dedication, hard work and perseverance by our students, together with the commitment and professional support of their teachers in helping the students realise their potential. On behalf of everyone at Caerphilly County Borough Council – I wish all our students every success in their future endeavours, whichever career path they choose to take. Well done to you all”.
