A group of charitable fundraisers have celebrated raising almost £50,000 over the past five years for terminal illness charity Marie Curie.

Members of the Caerphilly Fundraising Group were presented with long service awards from Community Fundraiser Helen Mulhern.

Since its inception in 2011, the group has organised concerts, tea parties and collections, and raised £47,000.

Chairperson Betty Hynam said: “As well as raising money for Marie Curie, through volunteering over the past five years I have made several new good friends and find it truly rewarding.”

The group welcomes new members and helpers, and those interested should contact Helen Mulhern on 02920 426068 or helen.mulhern@mariecurie.org.uk.
