Members of Caerphilly and District Floral Society recently celebrated their 45th anniversary with a ‘sparkling’ afternoon tea at the Park Plaza Hotel, in Cardiff.

A floral designed cake was cut by the society’s chair Angela Darch Jones and founder member Brenda Maslen.

Secretary Dianne Bishop said: “We are proud of our achievement of actively being in existence for 45 years. We have many happy memories of taking part in flower festivals in our town and in the Cathedrals of Hereford, Llandaff and Brecon, as well as putting on our own Millennium Flower Show in 2000.”

The society runs flower arranging classes on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of every month between 7pm and 9pm (Tuesday) and 2pm and 4pm (Wednesday) at the Twyn Community Centre in Caerphilly town.
