STOLEN: Gwent Police would like to speak to this woman in relation to the theft of £180 from a Barclays bank cashpoint in Nelson

Police are appealing for information after £180 was stolen from a cashpoint in Nelson.

Officers would like to speak to a woman captured on CCTV following the theft of cash from a Barclays bank cashpoint on Commercial Street, Nelson.

The theft took place at around 5.50pm on Wednesday July 13, after the cashpoint’s previous user accidently left £180 in the machine.

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting log: 342 16/07/16.

    Perhaps the headline should really say – “silly person leaves £180 hanging from ATM”. A little harsh to call this theft and to show a picture of the person who ‘discovered’ the money, what were they supposed to do, leave it there! The person who left the cash could have been long gone by the time the next person came along to use the machine.
