A convicted drug dealer from Abertridwr has had his sentence increased at the Court of Appeal.
Craig Victorio Jarvis, 39, of Coedcae Road, was one of ten people jailed at Cardiff Crown Court in July this year as part of a cocaine-dealing operation in Tonyrefail, in the Rhondda.
Jarvis was arrested as part of South Wales Police’s Operation Orange Gobi, which recovered 1.5kg of high-purity cocaine with a street value of £500,000.
Jarvis acted as a courier for the gang and when police raided a home in Pontypandy Lane, Caerphilly, also found 90 cannabis plants.
Jarvis was jailed for two years after admitting conspiracy to supply class A drugs and eight months for the production of cannabis.
However, judges sitting at the Court of Appeal on Tuesday, September 13, ruled that his sentence was too lenient for the cannabis production and increased it to two years to run consecutively – making a total jail term of four years.
An earlier version of this article implied that the cannabis plants were found at Jarvis’ address in Coedcae Road, Abertridwr. This was not the case and we are happy to correct this inaccuracy.
