News | | Published: 10:13, Monday September 26th, 2016.

Police are appealing for information after a burglary in Machen, and want to speak to the driver of blue Mazda 6 seen in the area.

At around 6.30pm on Friday September 23, a home in Rectory Gardens, Machen, was broken into.

After the burglar was disturbed by the occupant of the house, he made his way out of a nearby window towards the main road in Machen. A tin containing money was stolen.

The man is described as white, approximately five feet ten inches tall, with sandy coloured hair, and of slim build. He was last seen getting into a car that drove off in the direction of Caerphilly.

Officers are appealing for information, and are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a blue Mazda 6 seen in the area at the time.

Anyone who has any information regarding the burglary or the blue Mazda 6 can call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number: Log: 426 23/09/2016 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
