The family of a missing Bargoed man has been notified after a body was found in the River Rhymney.
Gwent Police said the discovery was made on Saturday, October 1, in the Bargoed area.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Formal identification has yet to take place, however, we have notified the family of 70-year-old Robert Evans, who was reported as missing to Gwent Police on Monday, September 26.
“Officers are not treating the death as suspicious at this time, and the coroner has been informed.”
Robert Evans, pictured, was last seen at around 10.30pm on Saturday September 24, leaving the Beech Grove social club in Hengoed.
Police said they had been concerned for his wellbeing.
