A Caerphilly-based business has raised £1,000 for Velindre Cancer Centre.

Ecolab, a global company with a pest-control office based on Van Road, Caerphilly, has held several fundraising events throughout the year for the charity.

Velindre Cancer Centre is the chosen charity of the Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council, Cllr Dianne Price, who was presented a cheque at the Ecolab office on Thursday, September 29.

A spokesperson for Ecolab said: “In July we held a charity day at the office which raised almost £200, while earlier in September two members of staff, Greg Bowen and Karen Dummett, completed the Cardiff 10k.

“We are continuing to support the Mayor’s Charity until May 2017 and we will be holding several more fundraising events in the coming future.”

As well as hosting a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, workers will be wearing pink on October 21 to raise awareness of breast cancer.
