A boy has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a van earlier this morning.
The boy, who sustained serious injuries, was hit by the small van on Pengam Road, Fleur-de-Lys, and police were called at around 8.33am.
He was airlifted to University Hospital of Wales.
Police closed off the road between the High Street and St David’s Road junctions.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “The boy has sustained serious injuries and has been conveyed to University Hospital of Wales by Air Ambulance.”
