Two memorial services are to be held in Senghenydd to mark two of South Wales’ worst mining disasters.
A service will be held at 10am on Friday October 14 at the Welsh Mining Memorial Ground, Senghenydd, to commemorate the 440 men and boys who died after an explosion at the Universal Colliery in Senghenydd in 1913, while another service at the same location will mark 50 years since the Aberfan disaster in 1966 on Thursday October 20.
Any queries should be directed to Gill Jones, Aber Valley Heritage Group secretary, on 02920 830620.
