Bogus charity collectors operating in Blackwood

Bogus charity collectors have been operating in Blackwood, Gwent Police has said.

A property on Montclaire Avenue was called at twice on Tuesday, December 6, by people claiming they were collecting for cancer charities.

The first call was at 11.30am and was made by a woman, aged between 40 and 50. She is described as white, around 5ft 3in tall, of medium build with dyed strawberry blonde hair. She had a strong Irish accent and was wearing white trainers, pale blue jeans, and a pale pink zip up jacket with a hood. She was also carrying a white clipboard and collection box.

The second call was at 1.30pm. The caller is described as being a white male, aged in his mid 50s and approximately 5ft 10in tall.

He was of large build and bald. He was wearing blue denim jeans, a black zip up puffa jacket and black leather shoes/trainers with velcro fastenings. He was also carrying a white clipboard and collection box.

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101.
