A man has been left in a critical condition after an incident in Hafodyrynys, according to Gwent Police.
Two men have been arrested and appeal has gone out for witnesses.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “At 3.43am on December 27, Gwent Police attended an incident in the Hafodyrynys area where a male had received serious injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital.
“Two males aged 35 and 32 have been arrested and are currently in custody.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for any witnesses to come forward if they have any information relating to this incident.”
