Caerphilly proved it is a borough bursting with marketing talent at The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Wales Awards in November — with local businesses picking up three awards.

Caerphilly town’s DS Smith Recycling took home the prestigious Marketing Team of the Year award, while Bedwas’ Peter’s Food Service scooped Marketing Campaign of the Year for its Peter’s Welsh Rugby Heroes 2016 campaign.

D?r Cymru Welsh Water, based in Nelson, won Best Use of Digital Marketing while Marketer of the Year went to the firm’s Head of Brand and Marketing Morgan Lloyd.

Cadw and Equinox’s Historic Adventures campaign — which launched with a giant dragon at Caerphilly Castle — won Best Integrated Campaign.

Speaking about DS Smith Recycling’s win, the company’s European Marketing Manager, Sophia Al Janabi, said: “Whilst our team is small, our ambition is big. I’m extremely lucky to have a team behind me that are so talented and passionate about what they do.

“This award recognises their hard work and dedication. With our head office based in Caerphilly, it’s a reminder of the fantastic marketing talent we have here in Wales, and the CIM Awards are a fantastic way to recognise this.”

As winners of the event’s top awards, DS Smith and Peter’s will join Agency of the Year winner, Equinox, and Marketer of the Year, Morgan Lloyd, as entrants to CIM’s UK-wide Marketing Excellence Awards, taking place in London next year.
