Almost £7,000 was raised for charity through public collections at last year’s Caerphilly town fireworks display, held in the grounds of the castle.
Caerphilly Town Council, which organises the annual display reported that a total of £6,835 was raised in aid of Caerffilli Lions Club and the Wales Air Ambulance.
At a recent meeting, town councillors unanimously agreed to round the total up to £7,000 which will be split evenly by the two organisations.
