A major house fire on a housing estate in Caerphilly left a man in hospital and also claimed the life of a pet dog.
Fifteen emergency vehicles were called to the fire in Rowland Drive, on the Castle View estate, after a 999 call was received at 9pm last night, Monday, January 16. Four fire engines, seven ambulance vehicles and four police cars all attended.
Firefighters from Caerphilly, Whitchurch, Pontypridd and Cardiff battled the fire at the semi-detached house for an hour, successfully preventing it from spreading to other properties.
