Police have issued warnings to residents walking on Caerphilly Mountain after traps were found on popular trails.

Officers from Gwent Police tweeted photographs of the traps on Thursday January 19 evening, warning cyclists, hikers, dog walkers and horse riders.

The find signifies the latest case of trails being sabotaged on the mountain, after a feud between locals and mountain bikers in September.

Gwent Police is appealing for information about the latest incident, and anyone with information can call 101.

It’s difficult to comprehend the mind of the madmen who do this sort of thing. Whoever places such a device has no interest in who or what suffers the consequence.
It’s appalling and no less than terrorism.

Yes I agree with you. They have no thought for anyone else, they obviously do not even care. Maybe, just maybe when some person or animal is seriously injured or killed by this sort of behaviour, only then will decent people get together to find this scum of society and put a stop to this/those individuals irresponsible behaviour.

Just hope this isn’t disgraced former MP Ron Davies up to the same tricks as just a few months ago, as reported in the BBC, The Times and many, many other news outlets. Sadly, the Police and NRW seemed completely disinterested in pursuing that to it’s logical conclusion. Just hope nobody (child, adult or even animals) is injured by these reckless idiots.
