Around 1,450 baby births were registered in Caerphilly County Borough last year, according to the council’s registrar team.
As well as registering the births, the department also oversaw 500 couples getting married.
Superintendent Registrar Della Mahony said: “It is a very rewarding job and it is safe to say we laugh and smile with people every day as well as sharing some of the sadness.”
