Into the Ark, the musical duo from Blackwood, took a break from competing on TV show The Voice to return to their former schools for a special gig.

Dane Lloyd, 25, and Taylor Jones, 20, are through to the semi-finals of the ITV talent show and took time out of their preparations to visit Islwyn High School.

The pair performed at the school’s sites in Pontllanfraith and Oakdale on Thursday, March 9 and Friday, March 10.

Jones is a former Pontllanfraith Comprehensive pupil, while Lloyd is a former Oakdale Comprehensive School pupil. The two schools have recently merged to become Islwyn High.

The soulful pair are being mentored through The Voice by Welsh singing legend Sir Tom Jones, and made it through to the semi-final at the live show on Saturday March 18.
