The Caerphilly-based Tommy Cooper Society has held its annual Tommy’s Birthday Lunch at Coleg y Cymoedd’s Scholars Restaurant in Ystrad Mynach.
Celebrating what would have been the comedian’s 96th birthday, enthusiasts from South Wales and the west of England enjoyed a meal prepared and served by students from the college and trainees from French Guiana.
Tributes were paid to the work of Elwyn Evans MBE and his colleagues who attended from Aber Valley YMCA, the most recent recipients of a heart defibrillator under the society’s Tommy’s Ticker campaign.
