Bedwas Theatre Group is celebrating after receiving a lottery grant of £5,000 to purchase new equipment.
The group, which was established in 1982, held a special evening on Thursday March 9.
The night’s entertainment included a display by the group and speeches by chair of Bedwas, Trethomas, Machen Community Council, Amanda McConnell, and Caerphilly AM Hefin David, who said: “The Bedwas Theatre Group is exactly the kind of community activity that makes a difference to people’s lives.
“I know from my own experience that it is fun to be involved with amateur theatre and that it provides great, affordable local entertainment.”
