Children showed off their designs at an Easter bonnet parade held on Good Friday at Sainsbury’s Pontllanfraith.
Twenty-three children took part in the parade at the supermarket and Linda Korczynski, from the store, said: “On behalf of Sainsbury’s Pontllanfraith, I would just like to thank everybody who attended the Easter bonnet parade.
“We had a great morning and the customers and children loved it.”
• Staff at Stagecoach in South Wales took the initiative to do something charitable for Tŷ Hafann Children’s Hospice over the Easter break. T? Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales.
Over 100 Easter eggs and soft toys were donated by staff in Blackwood and Caerphilly depots to give the children a respite from their worries and hopefully brought a smile to their faces. The items were delivered to T? Hafan on Good Friday and were gratefully received by the staff in the hospice.
Steven Robinson, Assistant Operations Manager for Blackwood and Caerphilly said: “We displayed a few posters around staff areas in the depots and were overwhelmed with the response from the drivers and engineering staff.
“Well done to everyone who donated something and we really hope the children enjoyed their surprises and had a lovely Easter.”
