Man injured in assault outside Sports Direct in Caerphilly

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Caerphilly town.

The man sustained facial injuries after being assaulted by a group of men outside Sports Direct, on Cardiff Road in Caerphilly, at around 1.40am on Sunday May 14.

Anyone who witnessed the assault of has any information can call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 44 14/05/17.

    So….guessing the CCTV cameras in Caerphilly are turned off…is there not one outside Sports Direct ??

      There may be a camera there but like the rest of the CCTV system it does not seem to be of much use.

    A few years back any group loitering in a town centre at that time of morning would have been spoken to and moved on by patrolling police officers !
    That can’t happen if you haven’t got officers patrolling.
