Sainsbury’s shortlists three charities for latest scheme

News | | Published: 10:14, Tuesday June 13th, 2017.

A Pontllanfraith supermarket is calling on customers to vote for a local charity to receive a year’s support from the store.

The Sainsbury’s store on Newbridge Road, Pontllanfraith, is renewing its Local Charity of the Year scheme and has shortlisted three charities from all the nominations made.

The charities are: Four Paws Animal Rescue (the scheme’s current charity nominated again), Rhymney Valley Food Bank, and Matthew Walklin’s Make a Smile Foundation.

Customers can vote for their chosen charity either online at www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk or in the Pontllanfraith store itself between Monday June 12 and Sunday June 25.

Alyn Davies, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s Pontllanfraith, said: “There are so many fantastic charities in the local area which do brilliant work in our community.”
