Law firm buys Blackwood practice in expansion plans

Business, News | | Published: 09:48, Tuesday June 27th, 2017.

Law firm CJCH Solicitors has acquired Blackwood-based Patchell Davies, as part of its expansion strategy.

The move expands the CJCH network of offices to six and brings the firm’s capital city law services into Caerphilly County Borough.

The Patchell Davies office will continue to service the local community, as it has for more than 30 years, but now as part of a firm with an international reputation and a growing client base around the world.

“The acquisition of Patchell Davies sees us broaden our services into a new geographical area,” said Tim Hartland, managing partner at CJCH Solicitors.

“The incorporation of Patchell Davies into the CJCH Group is another step towards achieving our goal of creating a truly customer-focused legal practice, and bringing world-class legal support to Wales.”

Founder, Howard Patchell, and director, Graeme Davies, are both staying on, and staff at Blackwood will be integrated into the CJCH team, which has offices in London, Bristol, Bridgend and Barry, as well as its Cardiff headquarters.

The integration will include Blackwood staff being trained in anti-piracy and cyber protection – fields in which CJCH has developed a global reputation.

“We pride ourselves in offering dedicated, personalised and results-orientated legal services to the local community,” said Mr Patchell.

“We are proud to become part of a practice to which our own values align so perfectly and which strives for excellence and innovation on a global scale.”
