Award-winning ciders from across the UK will be available at The Malcolm Uphill in Caerphilly during a 17-day cider festival.

The Wetherspoon pub on Cardiff Road, Caerphilly, will be serving up to 19 beers from across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland during the festival, which runs from Friday July 7 until Sunday July 23.

All ciders will be priced at £2.99 a pint, and customers will be able to sample any three of their choice in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a single pint. Tasting notes are also available for each.

As well as the usual apple and pear ciders, other flavours include those made with elderflower, strawberry, rum and raisin, toffee-apple and ginger, lychee and ginseng.

Several of the ciders have been produced exclusively for the festival.

Pub manager, John Stephens, said: “The Malcolm Uphill will be offering a superb selection of craft ciders during the festival.

“Cider is the perfect drink to enjoy during the summer and we believe that the festival will appeal to cider lovers as well as those enjoying cider for the first time.”
