Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney MP given frontbench role by Jeremy Corbyn

Gerald Jones has been handed a role on the Labour frontbench in the House of Commons.

The Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney MP will act as Shadow Defence Minister after a reshuffle by Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, on Monday July 3.

The move comes after the party gained 30 seats in last month’s General Election.

Mr Jones, who was first elected as an MP in the 2015 General Election, will be joined by Caerphilly MP, Wayne David, in the shadow defence team.

Mr David initially resigned from his role as Shadow Minister of State for Justice in July last year – criticising Mr Corbyn’s leadership – before returning to the frontbench in October.

He remains in his role as a junior spokesman on defence.

The only thing he will be defending is Comrade Corbyn and his crazy “money tree”policies in his “for the many, not the few” empire.
One for all – and all for free !
