A community is rallying together to raise funds for a local girl left in intensive care earlier this week.
Residents from the Mornington Meadows community in Caerphilly town are holding a fun-day today, Friday July 7, to raise money for a seven-year-old girl who was hit by a car on the Lansbury Park link road on Sunday July 2.
An air ambulance was called and the girl was taken to University Hospital Wales in Cardiff where police say she remains in a “critical” condition.
Concerned residents have acted quickly to organise a community fundraising day, with all proceeds raised going to the girl’s family.
Between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, the field behind the Dol Yr Eos estate in Mornington Meadows will be filled with bouncy castles, sumo suits, ice creams, children’s activities and a raffle will be held.
Over £400 has already been raised from raffle ticket sales, while several local businesses have donated money and vouchers towards the cause, described by organisers as “a show of amazing support.”
