Sponsored walk to raise money for drop-in centre for disabled children

News | | Published: 12:00, Thursday July 20th, 2017.

A sponsored walk and wheelchair push to raise funds for a drop-in centre for disabled children is set to take place on Sunday, July 23.

The walk will begin at Abertridwr Medical Centre at 11am and finish at Llanbradach Community Centre at 1pm.

The afternoon will then be taken up with a community celebration with music, face painting, food and a bouncy castle.

Dr Narayanan Rajan, who practices in Abertridwr, Llanbradach and Bedwas, founded the Diya Charitable Trust with the aim of buying the leasehold of the Llanbradach surgery.

The building is set to be replaced with a new medical centre serving the village and Dr Rajan wants to open the drop-in centre to help families living with disabled children in the Abertridwr, Llanbradach and Bedwas areas.

T-shirts have also been produced for people to wear and show their support and can be bought for just £10.

To take part in the event, to get further details, or to buy a t-shirt, please contact Abertridwr Medical Centre on 029 2083 3300.
