Bargoed post office has reopened today following a mystery closure.
The branch, on the town’s Cardiff Road, had been closed since Tuesday, July 4, meaning regular users of the branch have had to go to the McDonnell Road post office, Aberbargoed post office and Fleur-de-Lys post office.
Caerphilly Assembly Member Hefin David had been in contact with the Post Office voicing his concern over the closure and is due to meet postal bosses on Friday, July 28.
It is understood that a new temporary Postmaster has taken over the running of the branch.
A Post Office spokesman said: “Following the temporary closure of Bargoed post office at the beginning of the month we have been working hard to restore services to the community.
“We are pleased to confirm that Bargoed Post Office will reopen on 24 July. Post Office services will be available between 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.”
