Pre-tax profit at insurance broker Moorhouse Group, better known as Constructaquote.com, grew by 72.5%, according to figures filed at Companies House.

The company, which is based near Pontygwindy Industrial Estate, reported a pre-tax profit of £709,000 for the year ending September 2016.

However, consolidated accounts for its parent company Moorhouse Group Holdings Ltd recorded a pre-tax profit of £303,000 – down from £411,000 in 2015.

Administration costs at the parent company increased from £1.46 million in 2015 to £2.06m.

Commenting on the subsidiary’s strong results, Moorhouse’s Chief Executive Lyndon Wood said: “Innovation is a key driver in everything we do. My teams are building recurring revenues by growing our key accounts as we continue to provide business insurance, van insurance, public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance to both SMEs and large organisations.”
