The Bedwellty Show returned to Llancaiach Fawr on Saturday, August 19, to mark its 140th anniversary.

Around 2,000 visitors attended the show, which for the second year was held at Llancaiach Fawr near Nelson.

There was a wide range of attractions and activities, ranging from horticultural displays, falconry displays, archery, a climbing wall and children’s rides.

The agricultural show also had the tradtional showcasing of livestock with cattle, sheep and pigs.

Glyn Davies, Chairman of the Bedwellty Agricultural Society, said: “We were really pleased at how it went.

“Having the show at Llancaiach Fawr has brought a different perspective for us. We were previously in a very residential area, but now we are in the country – and that’s what we are about.

“We are growing stronger and we can go on and be a bit bigger next year.”
