Another day, another story about thefts in the Rhymney valley. When will the bosses at police wake up, we need police constables on the beat and we need them NOW. We dont need these CPOs or council wardens, we need constables out there who can actually do something. Im disgusted of how our valley had became a crime wave area. We also need more sereve penalities for when these people get caught instead of a slap on the wrist. As a community we must get togather and demand change.

It seems that Gwent Police have just given up the fight against crime – I fully agree that we need more constables on the streets and that community officers and council wardens are ineffective and not the answer (and with a proposed 5% increase in council tax we want services that work). I feel that even if they put more constables walking the beat it is too late to halt the rise in crime.
