Housing association United Welsh’s wholly owned subsidiary, Celtic Horizons, has appointed a new Managing Director.

Mark Bugler, pictured above, has joined the team at the award-winning asset management and maintenance service.

Mr Bugler, 51, joins Celtic Horizons from an SME and large corporate background, having delivered and led professional services across the construction sector.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the housing sector, having initially qualified as a carpenter and joiner, before qualifying as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and progressing to work at various director level posts, leading on national roles and major projects.

Mr Buglar is also a previous board member at United Welsh and has extensive experience of the public sector markets.

He said: “A great deal has been achieved over the past four years and I am looking forward to working with the teams at Celtic Horizons, United Welsh and Mears to continue to build on the success which has already been enjoyed.

“I am really looking forward to working closely with our customers and continuing to drive up levels of customer satisfaction.”

Celtic Horizons was developed in partnership with the Mears Group and is the first subsidiary of its kind in Wales.

Group Chief Executive of United Welsh Lynda Sagona said: “I am delighted to welcome Mark to Celtic Horizons and the United Welsh Group.

He has a wealth of experience and understands the business from a number of different angles so it’s great to welcome him on board.”

Jane Nelson, Executive Director, Mears Group said: “It is fantastic that we have been able to secure such an experienced and skilled person as Mark to help drive continuous service improvements for United Welsh’s tenants.

“He will be a great addition to the team.”
