This Friday, November 17, volunteers from Caerphilly Fire Station will be at the town’s Castle Court Shopping Centre raising money for Children in Need.
Between 10am and 4pm, 12 South Wales Fire and Rescue Service firefighters will be joined by public services students from
Coleg Y Cymoedd collecting for Children in Need and answering fire safety questions shoppers may have.
Caerphilly Community Fire Station has been in its current location – just off Pontygwindy Road – since 1959, and the current station opened in 2001.
Station commander Steve Logan said: “Initiatives are more likely to be successful if people work in partnership, so it is great that we are able to collaborate for this very worthwhile cause.”
