Brace’s Bakery, based in Crumlin, has announced an expansion to its deal with retailer Aldi.
The family-owned company will now supply its Brace’s Luxury XX Thick White Sliced Bread to stores across Wales, alongside its three other product lines currently stocked by the retailer.
Last year, the bakery supplied more than 3.5 million loaves of bread to the supermarket – making it one of Aldi’s largest bread suppliers.
They supply all Aldi stores in Wales ,as well as Devon and Cornwall.
Brace’s Bakery has been in the family for three generations and is now run by two of founder George Brace’s grandsons.
Director Mark Brace said: “We are proud suppliers of Aldi and our partnership with them has seen our business go from strength-to-strength.
“This fourth listing will allow us to invest further into our operations.
“We’ve been baking bread for over 100 years and it’s great that Aldi has given us the opportunity for more customers to enjoy our products. We think it’s a product local people will really love.”
So nice to see a local company expanding and doing well. It’s even made better by the fact that the business is family owned still. Well done.
I echo those sentiments – always good to see local firns doing well, and as you say, especially as they are a family firm who have been in the business for over 100 years.
